Allah says,''Read with (call) the name of your Lord is the Creator. He has created man from a clot. Read, and thy Lord is Most Generous, who taught (man) with the mediation of kalam. He taught the human what he does not know.''(Surah Al-Alaq: 1-5).
Iqra, read command is so important that was repeated twice in the series of the first revelation. Maybe we were surprised to see that the command is addressed first reading to someone who never read a book anything before falling Koran (Sura 29: 48), even he was not good at reading a paper until the end of his life (Sura 7:157). Thus, reading is first and foremost requirement for successful people. Thus, it is not surprising if you read the first guidance given by Allah to mankind.
